DSC-6 - Best Descaler 6-Pack for Espresso Machines
- Item #: DSC-6
Best Descaler for descaling home espresso machines; six packets in each pack. More per packet and more effective. Read instructions on the packet before descaling. Each packet is good for a single descaling cycle. This descaler is used in our workshop with best results. Descaling is the single most important maintenance for all espresso machines. Cleancaf sold at Zabar ans Starbucks stores is labelled as Descaler but it is not. Other products like Brew Rite, Polycaff, Brita and Cafiza are not Descalers at all.
All espresso machines need minerals free water. The mineral desposits inside block the flow of ater, reduce the pump pressure causing bad quality of coffee. Descaling is the single most important maintenance for all espresso machines. Descaling is not s ritual. It is an obligation for good function of the espresso maker. Best espresso is made with optimum temperature of water, possible only with Calcium free internal system.
1- Always complete the descaling process by flushing the machine with at least one tank full clean water to remove the descaling chemical completely from the hydraulic system.
2- Extended contact with some metals may corrode metal surface lining. Avoid exposure to Chrome plated parts for longer than two minutes (Chrome can turn permanently black).
3- Use it regularly, every two months to keep your espresso machine in good working order with optimum water temperature for espresso and maximum steam pressure for steaming milk.
4- Use it for cleaning whitish deposits inside or outside walls of water tank, steam pipes, and other parts clogged with deposits of Calcium. Clean Brass parts with deposits of Calcium look ugly and even appear as unusable. When treated by a dip in the Best descaling solution these parts clean out shining bright like new.
5- When descaling cycles are missed for several months, extra descaling is recommended as one descaling cycle cannot neutralize accumulated sediment. Machines that have not been descaled for several years may need as many as five to six cycles.
6- When leaving the machine in storage for extended period of non-use, descale it before leaving. For semi-automatic models with a pour over water tank, descale the machine first to remove the existing deposits of Calcium inside it and then use descaler cartridge, (part # 0500DC). Water passing through this cartridge will be calcium free before it enters the machine. Read details on item #0500DC on this cart. The cartridge is good for 1200 shots of espresso or one year. Include volume of water used for hot chocolate or Tea drinks from the same machine. Descaling regularly is even more important for home models with instant steam function (models with two boilers) or with programmable dose of espresso (NewGen models like Sirena, New Baby, Baby Class or such).
